Overview: This course helps you to analyse the commercial environment which is explored through a number of models and frameworks, such as PESTLE, STEEPLE and SWOT with real business scenarios; business development and growth can also be analysed with the same models and frameworks. The Ansoff Matrix is added to this list, and identify’s business development opportunities that can be analysed using SWOT; strategic alignment can be achieved through the development of a Mission Statement; collaboration and business partnerships can be analysed. Finally, the criteria for developing a successful business case is described.

Learning Objectives – On completion of this Commercial Acumen Training, learners will be able to:

  • Understand how to demonstrate commercial awareness
  • Complete an analysis of the commercial environment using relevant tools and techniques
  • Use the completed analysis of the commercial environment to identify new business opportunities
  • Develop and write a business case for a new opportunity that has been identified.
